Join us in gratitude as we celebrate National Gratitude Month!  At Beacon we are grateful for the opportunity to help people live their best lives!  We are also grateful for all of the wonderful care and support provided by our entire Beacon team!

The Harvard Medical School highlights the findings of studies that show the power of gratitude:

“In positive psychology research, gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.”

Showing gratitude can make you feel better about your life, manage mental health problems like depression and anxiety, improve self-esteem and sleep, lower your stress, and more.

Here are some of the ways that you show gratitude:

  • Say something nice to someone—a compliment, a word of thanks or recognition
  • Write your gratitude as a thank you note, a letter, or in a notebook/journal
  • Show your gratitude with a gift
  • Invite someone to spend time with you

Please also join Beacon as we raise awareness about diabetes during Diabetes Awareness Month.

Diabetes is a disease that occurs when your blood glucose, also called blood sugar, is too high. It can lead to health problems related to your eyes, kidneys, nerves, and heart, and it is linked to some types of cancer. Working with your health care professionals can help you get the diabetes care you need to improve your health.  Remember that you are the most important participant in your diabetes care.

Here are some tips to help you manage diabetes and build your diabetes health care team:
