The first president, George Washington, proclaimed our country’s official Thanksgiving occur November 26, 1789. Washington said “as a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favours…” are to enjoy a bountiful harvest with honor and maintain peace. History of Thanksgiving. 234 years later, the United States of America continues to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Ask yourself, what are you thankful for this season?

Within Beacon homes, we come together to gather not only around the home but around the table. There have been several weeks of preparation. Home Managers ask what matters most to our people-supported. Then they go grocery shopping and put together their “Best Spread” menu. Decorations will be placed around the house, and when the big celebration arrives, everyone will sit around the table and discuss what they are thankful for. Then they enjoy their bountiful harvest.

To make it a little extra special, homes will submit their photos to their Marketing Team sharing  all of their Thanksgiving decorations and specialty dishes. The homes that have the “Best Spread” will earn a special surprise.

Will you join us in creating a “Best Spread” in your home? We would love to have you share your photos, and we would love to hear what you are most thankful for as well.

Happy Thanksgiving!
