Person-Centered, Compassionate Care

Beacon Specialized Living is a trusted leader in providing residential and supported living services throughout Wisconsin. We take great pride in the care, compassion, and professionalism demonstrated every day by our Direct Support Professionals.

At Beacon, we believe that a fulfilling life extends beyond basic care. We actively encourage individuals we serve to explore and develop meaningful connections in all areas of life—including relationship building, recreation, spirituality, and creative expression. At Beacon, our homes emphasize the development of daily living skills while partnering with each individual to support them in achieving their personal goals.

Our homes are state-licensed, and our dedicated staff are highly trained professionals who meet and consistently exceed all state regulatory requirements.

Beacon provides multiple layers of support to ensure the highest quality of care for those we serve. Our Direct Support Professionals work closely with individuals each day, building meaningful relationships and providing hands-on support. Care Team Managers oversee staff, coordinate schedules, and manage appointments to ensure consistency and continuity of care. Program Directors provide leadership across multiple homes, offering guidance and support to both staff and residents.

In addition, Beacon offers comprehensive clinical and medical support services that work directly with residents and care teams. These integrated layers of support ensure that our residents, their guardians, and our staff all feel informed, supported, and empowered every step of the way.

As a person-centered care organization, Beacon specializes in supporting adult men and women with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with a strong emphasis on behavioral health. Our approach is guided by our core values of integrity, compassion, advocacy, respect, and excellence.

Through these values, we deliver individualized, person-centered care that honors each resident’s unique needs, preferences, and goals. We also actively encourage and facilitate participation in community activities, helping individuals build independence, confidence, and a true sense of belonging.

Supported Living Services

We are passionate about making a difference in the lives of our individuals, families, and staff through exceptional care and support.

The Beacon Difference

Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) undergo rigorous training to ensure the highest quality of care. The process begins with an intensive 11-day program, which includes eight days of specialized instruction covering critical areas such as de-escalation techniques (Ukeru), suicide prevention, medication administration, documentation, and Red Cross First Aid/AED/CPR certification. This is supplemented by approximately 30 hours of self-guided coursework on specialized topics like autism care, professional conduct, and seizure disorders. New hires then spend three days shadowing experienced DSPs for supervised, hands-on experience.
