Beacon Mental Health Services Change Lives
A Letter From Our CEO
Since 1964, Beacon Specialized Living has delivered compassionate care to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, mental illness and/or severe chronic conditions. Beacon creates new models of care that encompass safe housing, healthy food and affordable transportation, and we prioritize “connectedness” with peers, caregivers, and local communities. These needs are essential to achieving meaningful improvements in function, independence and well-being. Through community-based coordinators with local expertise, we support individuals in person, gaining their trust and developing personalized goals to address their physical, mental health and social needs.
We achieve sustainable outcomes by embracing or developing best practices for our specialized services. We apply evidence-based care via a network of therapists, clinicians and nurses, effectively supporting the “whole person” and helping them reach their highest level of independence possible. We invest significantly more in people and infrastructure than any other provider, and demonstrate that our community-based services are far more humane and effective in achieving sustainable improvements in behaviors, health outcomes and quality of life.
Our success is made possible by a village of stakeholders aligned around common goals. I’m thankful for our entire team of staff, community partners and guardians. Every day, we work hard to be the preferred provider of the individuals we serve, their families, community agencies and payors throughout our service area. As we’re winning new contracts and expanding our line of specialized services and capabilities, we’re quickly becoming one of the largest, leading national providers of behavioral health services. I’m proud that Beacon is a good community partner, and that our team deeply cares for so many individuals who were previously misunderstood and avoided.
In good health,

Darren W. Hodgdon
CEO
