Community-Based Day Program

Beacon-MRCS is passionate about making a difference in the lives of the people we support, families and staff through exceptional supports and services.  Using person-centered assessments, we will help people discover their interests, dreams, and talents, along with their support needs.  Our goal is for people to develop meaningful relationships, reduce social isolation, and create valued social roles in the community.  This includes leisure and recreation activities, social skill building, volunteer opportunities and lots of fun!  We want every person to be able to say “I am an important part of my community”.

Beacon-MRCS Pillars

Pillars Community Based Day Services operates under the Adult Day Support (ADS) billing options. Beacon-MRCS Pillars program is focused on Community Integration aspect of ‘Day Hab’ or ‘Adult Day Array’ options. This focus we believe is in the best interest of any individual we serve.

The four pillars are listed below:

+ Community Life

We try to look at what makes being a good community member possible and how we can enhance or create these skills.  This can be done in a multitude of different ways by exploring what our communities are already doing and how we can enhance or become involved.

+ Work Exploration

If anyone is interested in working, we can figure out how to support them to get a meaningful job that fulfills their desires.

+ Meaningful Connection

This can look different for everyone. For some it’s visiting the coffee shop and seeing a familiar face. For others, it could be developing friendships outside of their normal circle.  This also can be done in a multitude of ways as mentioned above.

+ Fun

Everyone wants to have fun!! There is no reason we can’t have fun as we explore our community and see what opportunities we have and can create!

Beacon-MRCS Pillars will serve individuals in groups of 1 staff and up to 4 individuals. Groups will be arranged according to personalities and needs.  Currently, we have designated volunteer days that we are continually expanding.  We attempt an exploration activity each week exploring opportunities throughout the communities in which we live.   Some weeks we will vary the number of each of these opportunities based on the group needs and desires.   We have a small space to meet if the weather gets bad or there are things needing done in terms of personal care; IE restrooms, etc.
