Congratulations and well done to Home Managers Brittany Allen and Kelly Fox on their successful completion of the new Home Manager Leadership, Excellence, Advancement & Promotion (LEAP) program! They’re the first two Home Managers to successfully be promoted onto Level Two of the program.

Anyone can promote their career at Beacon, all it takes is motivation. According to Brittany, “Beacon truly sets us up for success, and it depends on US to pay attention to the information and knowledge [Beacon staff] provides.” Brittany felt that the achievement process is exciting and that Beacon is really setting her up for success in the future.

“When I came back to Beacon, my goal was to be a home manager,” Kelly said after she heard the news.

She started as a Direct Support Professional and even though she took some time off from Beacon, came back with fervor and a plan for success. Fox said although she had a brand new home manager to work with upon her return, she was still ready to hit the ground running.

“With her being new and not having an assistant, I took it upon myself to be that person. I read as many policies as I could and did as much as I could,” Fox stated. “Even if I screwed it up I still tried to figure it out. I went through all five levels working at the Augusta Home.”

Kelly was referring to Beacon’s DSP LEAP training schedule. This, and the regiment for Home Managers and District Directors, are designed specifically for staff to move from level to level in order to provide employees with tools, resources, and mentorship needed to succeed in their careers here at Beacon.

In just three short years, Kelly showed everyone at Beacon what it took to be a leader. “It took me three years to go from an entry-level DSP to the Home Manager at Wolf Lake,” she said.
