Beacon is Joint Commission-Accredited
- The Joint Commission has been active in behavioral health care accreditation since 1969 when it began accrediting organizations providing services for persons with developmental disabilities and mental illness. In 1972, The Joint Commission began evaluating and accrediting organizations providing mental health and chemical dependency services. Today, The Joint Commission accredits more than 1,800 behavioral health care organizations.
- Beacon Specialized Living Services had been accredited by The Joint Commission since 2005. In order to qualify for accreditation for behavioral health care, Beacon Specialized Living Services must meet exceptionally high standards when it comes to caring for those with developmental disabilities and mental illness.
